Captain Steve
Musician & Skipper of S.V. Arrested
I first learned to sail at the age of 10 on a small lake in East London, and that early spark never left me. Before long I was skippering our family’s little cruising yacht on coastal holidays, and soon after that I was hooked on the thrill of racing dinghies and catamarans around the buoys at clubs all over the UK.
Now, in my early 70s — and having recently retired from full‑time work — I’m finally giving a long‑held dream the space it deserves. From my home port of New Ross in the Republic of Ireland, I’m preparing to cast off aboard my Van de Stadt 30 and explore the coastlines of Ireland, the UK, and continental Europe.
The plan is simple: sail, play live music, meet great people, and let the gigs help fund the adventure.
If you’d like to follow how this dream turns into reality — the sailing, the music, the mishaps, the magic — you can join me on social media through the links below.
